BARC recruits Scientific Officers through two parallel streams. Choose based on your career preference.
• 1‑year residential training at BARC (Mumbai/Hyderabad)
• Stipend ₹74,000/month + ₹30,000 book allowance
• On completion: Scientific Officer "C" (Level‑10) in DAE
• M.Tech at IIT Bombay or IIT Madras (CSE)
• Full tuition + ₹74,000/month stipend + ₹60,000/year contingency
• After M.Tech → 4‑month OCDF → SO/C
B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or CSE. Integrated M.Tech in CSE also valid. Minimum 60% or 6.0 CGPA. Only full‑time regular degrees accepted.

The syllabus is based on B.E./B.Tech level CSE curriculum. Questions test fundamentals and problem‑solving.
Shortlisting is based on GATE score and/or CBT score. The final selection is based only on interview performance (plus medical fitness). Screening scores are not used in the final merit.
Held in Mumbai. Outstation candidates get AC‑III tier railway fare reimbursement.
Pre‑employment medical examination in July 2026. Must be medically fit.
