2. Exam Pattern & Marking
Two offline papers. After clearing the written, interview carries 20% weight in final merit.
Paper I: MMA (forenoon)
30 MCQ, +4 correct, 0 wrong, +1 for unattempted. Must clear sectional cutoff to get Paper II evaluated.
Paper II: PCB (afternoon)
8 subjective (C code, automata, proofs). Answer any 5. Total 100 marks.

Written test (80%) + interview (20%). Interview only if rank in 2.5× number of seats.

- Calculus: limits, continuity, differentiation, Riemann integration, sequences & series (uniform convergence).
- Linear algebra: vector spaces, linear transformations, matrices, rank, eigenvalues, Cayley‑Hamilton.
- Discrete math: combinatorics (permutations, combinations, binomial coefficients), graph theory basics, recurrence.
- Probability: conditional probability, Bayes, random variables, expectation, binomial, Poisson, normal.
- Real analysis: open/closed sets, compactness, continuity in metric spaces (for advanced students).
Computer Science (PCB) – official topics
- Data structures & algorithms: arrays, linked lists, trees, graphs, sorting/searching, complexity (big‑O).
- C programming: pointers, dynamic memory, recursion, writing code on paper.
- Automata theory: DFA, NFA, regular expressions, context‑free grammars, pumping lemma.
- Operating systems: processes, threads, concurrency, deadlock, memory management.
- Logic & digital design: Boolean algebra, logic gates, flip‑flops, basic computer organisation.
5. Eligibility & Reservation (Official)
Academic qualification
Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics as a subject at graduation or 10+2 level. Minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in aggregate or equivalent GPA.
