The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a prestigious national-level examination in India that evaluates candidates' understanding of undergraduate subjects in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, and Humanities. Conducted annually by the IITs and IISc Bangalore on behalf of the Ministry of Education, GATE serves as a gateway to postgraduate programs (ME, MTech, PhD) in top institutions like IITs, NITs, and IIITs, as well as recruitment into leading Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
GATE 2026 is being organized by Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG).
1. HTTA (Half-Time Teaching Assistantship)
HTTA stands for Half-Time Teaching Assistantship. This provides financial assistance to Indian Nationals enrolled in M.Tech Programmes, subject to Institute rules.
2. Non-HTTA (Non Half-Time Teaching Assistantship)
Non-HTTA does not provide financial assistance.
